Random collection 1 out of 8

Truth to be told, the next few posts will be mostly random stuff I have been storing up because I could not find a place for them. Including this one, expect around 8 more of the unknown stuff.

Music for the Next Generation

Next Gen system have launched and with this we see a lot of new soundtracks showing up on Spotify. What does that give us? Music for the Next Generation!

Bionic Commando - Finally Complete!

I have ranted about how Bionic Commando is the best game ever made, and the music for Bionic Commando rivals Beethoven's 5th when it comes to pure awe-inspiring military music. (Praise also go to Hell March 1, 2 and 3 by Frank Klepacki in this category)

Either way, a magical moment just happened on Spotify where both the Original 8 bit soundtrack, the soundtrack from Bionic Commando Rearmed and the Soundtrack for the Remake have all shown up at the same time.

Truly a blessing

Indie darlings

Since we did the big hits last time around, time to do some niche and indie titles.

More Video Game Cover bands!

When I made a Top 10 Video Game Cover bands, I said I would maybe make a post with all the ones that did not get on the list. I think there will be quite a few of these as I took a peak in my file where I keep all the game music I stumble upon on Spotify, I have 4 pages of links that I think I might want to clear out

Here is my first try: This is another 10 Video Game cover artists that you can find on Spotify. Not in any particular order.

Songs of Katalam, Exodus, Crayon Chronicles and more.

Some albums I found long ago and I had on the backlog

Trine 2, Halo, Monaco, Dropchord and lots of other good stuff

Really wondering if the Larry reloaded is worth it. I did enjoy it as a child, but... well, its Larry. Soundtrack is good, but really? Soundtrack made me enjoy DuckTales remastered, but I don't know about this one.

Fez, Don't Starve, Remember Me and more

Another day, another post.

I'm actually really interested in The Shivah after listening to the soundtrack. It looks like Papers please or Cart Life, but in the SCUMM Engine. Also, its 8 years old now, so super retro.

Saints Row IV - Soundtrack

Saints Row IV Soundtrack

Whats this? I'm posting upcoming game soundtracks now?

Yea, so the Soundtrack for Saints Row IV appeared on the internet. I don't know how well I trust the source. There are some songs in there that I cannot find at all, and the only reference to them is the Saint's Row IV soundtrack, so that sounds dubious.

I will be tracking up on this once the game releases and I can verify every song, but until that time, please enjoy. (Also, if you did not notice, I have Saints Row The Third and Saints Row 2 posted as well)

The Last of Us and more

Been going through the blog and updating some stuff, removed a lot of dead links, updated the ones I could and tried to make the formatting a bit more cohesive from start to finish, so that is why I have not updated this blog in ages, also, yea lazy.

Anyway, a new batch of music, starting of with the fantastic game, The Last of Us.

Random Encounter

I said that Random Encounter was the 4th best game cover band on Spotify, but have yet to make a post about them. I guess this post will correct that problem.

I stumbled upon Random Encounter via the Similar Artist tab on Spotify about 2 years ago, and I have been a huge fan since. Its actually a wonder that I had not heard of them before as they are one of the more famous cover bands out there.

Musically they fit snugly in the genera of progressive folk-indie rock, in the sub-genre of video game music, and can be quickly recognized by their frequent use of the accordion and Russian feel. (They are from Orlando, Florida, don't be fooled)

Visit their official band page here: http://randomencounterband.com/

Dead Island Riptide and Star Command

Another round of releases, Pawel Blaszczak does good work with the Riptides soundtrack, even if the reviewers did not really agree with the title.
